They say the love of cars is something that's in your blood, and that's certainly true for Jim Remlinger. Combining his passion for cars and desire to start his own business in 1971, Jim Remlinger began painting cars in a small rented garage in Winona, MN. At that time, there were quite a few paint and body shops already in existence in town and competition was fierce. Jim knew that he'd have to do things a little differently if he were to survive. That was to offer superior workmanship at a fair price, but not the cheapest. As it is with so many things in business today, sometimes you get what you pay for and a good job that will last takes more time and better materials.
And so Jim built a name for himself in the local area as a person you could count on to do the job right, the very first time! People that knew quality from around the region sought out his services and the very small business started to grow. Customers soon came to Jim to paint trucks and large auto transport trailers that wouldn't even fit into his existing shop and required painting half the vehicle at a time. The business was forced to move into larger quarters as the demand for truck and bus services increased.
Now nearly 40 years later, Jim and his family are still providing the best craftsmanship available at a fair price. That small business that started in a rented garage has been built into a prosperous facility with 61,000 square feet sitting on 6 secured acres, staffed with ASE technicians using the latest equipment and methods to repair or refurbish trucks, trailers, buses, coaches, and motor homes from all over the country.
So there have been a lot of changes in the last 40 years. But the one thing that hasn't changed is the focus on doing a quality job at a fair price for our customers. It's been that way around here for 40 years, and we're proud of that fact.
